Real estate website design in India: what builders and brokers need
By the Luke team · 8 November 2026
Separate builder and brokerage needs, plan city content, approved RERA information, mobile enquiries and dependable property updates. This guide is for business owners and marketing teams planning a real estate website for UAE or India; use it to shape a brief, not as a substitute for legal or regulatory review.
Separate the builder and brokerage model
A builder's website often centres on projects, unit types and site-visit enquiries. A brokerage may need sale and rental listings across neighbourhoods. A portal adds suppliers and moderation. These differences affect navigation, content ownership and the development scope more than the visual theme.
Write the primary task for each audience. Decide whether someone should research a project, shortlist a property or arrange a conversation. A generic home page with several competing buttons rarely explains that journey clearly.
Create useful location content
City and neighbourhood pages should reflect where the business actually operates and what inventory it can show. Include verified context and clear links to relevant properties or projects. Do not clone a paragraph across dozens of cities or suggest offices that do not exist.
Use price and area terminology consistently and explain the basis of measurements. Business-approved facts are more useful than unsupported claims about appreciation or rental yield. Maintain the content when availability or project details change.
Treat registration information as approved content
The national RERA Act includes registration rules for covered projects before promoters advertise or market them, subject to exemptions. Section 11(2) concerns authority website information and the project registration number in a promoter's advertisement or prospectus. The relevant project and state requirements need specialist confirmation.
State directions can add display requirements. Reserve approved fields and review roles in the CMS, but do not present a template as legal certification. A Maharashtra-specific instruction should be labelled as such rather than described as an India-wide rule.
Make enquiries practical on mobile
A property page should preserve the project reference when a visitor requests contact. A short form can ask for name and a contact method, with optional timing or budget context. Do not force every visitor through a detailed qualification exercise just to read basic project information.
Brochure and messaging journeys need clear data-use wording and a follow-up owner. Discuss the CRM queue and contact preferences before implementation. An enquiry that arrives without context creates extra sales work and is harder to evaluate.
Plan content maintenance after launch
Prices, status, plans and approved project information need ongoing owners. Agree who updates each field and how changes are approved. Test the editor's everyday tasks so the business can keep information current without redesigning a page each time.
Build measurement around completed enquiries and consistent qualification in the sales process. Optional tracking and personal-data handling require an applicable privacy review. The site can support discovery and confidence, but it cannot guarantee sales or first-page rankings.
